How to convert a photo

  1. Choose one HEIC or HEIF photo, up to 25 MB and 40 megapixels.
  2. Keep JPG selected. Adjust Quality if you want to trade detail for a smaller file.
  3. Select Convert image, review the preview and download your JPG.

What is preserved—and what is not

Unpin converts the first still image. It is not a Live Photo or multi-image exporter. HDR appearance and original metadata may not be preserved. Keep the original for archival or editing work. JPG does not support transparency; transparent areas become white.

For a rejected photo upload

If a form accepts JPG but refuses your HEIC, conversion changes the format. If it then rejects the size, use the quality slider to reduce the JPG. The separate compression tool exports WebP, which that form may not accept. Check its allowed formats first.

Limits and local processing

The source must be at most 25 MB and 40 megapixels. The output is scaled down if its longest side exceeds 8,000 pixels. The HEIC decoder downloads when needed, then works in your browser. Your selected photo is not sent to a conversion server.

When a photo will not convert

Some HEIC variants may not decode. Try exporting a JPG from the app that created the photo. Renaming .heic to .jpg does not convert the image. If the image is too large, resize it before trying again.

Can I convert twenty photos together?

Free tools process one file at a time. Pro adds batches of up to 20 files, but subscriptions are not open yet. Other converters offer free batch workflows, so choose what fits your task.

Does JPG conversion preserve all image quality?

No. JPG is a lossy format. Higher quality generally retains more detail and creates a larger file. HDR rendering and metadata can also change.

Can I choose PNG instead?

Yes. Choose PNG in the output menu. It can make a larger file; it does not recover information lost in the original.

Closing or refreshing this page clears the active files and results. Files you download remain wherever you save them. Your original files are unchanged.

Reel and TikTok downloads are in limited testing. When available to you, links and their videos will be processed on a server, with that explained in the download tool.

This version has no accounts, payment collection, advertising trackers, or saved conversion history. The hosting service receives ordinary website requests, and Google Fonts receives requests to load the fonts. Processing software is downloaded from this site.
