- Choose an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file, up to 100 MB.
- Enter your target size in MB. For a 10 MB upload limit, try 9.5 MB to leave room for differences in how services count file size.
- Select Compress file. Keep this tab open, then check the result’s size and playback before downloading.
What this compressor does
Unpin adjusts the video bitrate and checks the output against your target. It may try up to three times. The result is an MP4, and the current version does not offer a resolution control. Compression can reduce detail; it is not lossless.
A useful starting point
For a short screen recording that a form rejects, choose a target just below that form’s stated limit. If small text becomes hard to read, raise the target. A longer recording needs more data to retain the same detail. This is guidance, not a tested promise that a particular video will fit.
Limits and processing
Inputs: MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV, up to 100 MB. Target: 0.05–100 MB. Some codecs are unsupported. Video processing downloads about 32 MB of software on first use and runs in your browser; several minutes may be needed. Your device’s memory can be the practical limit.
If the target is too small
Try a larger target or shorten the original in another editor. Unpin reports a failure if it cannot get below the target; it does not quietly deliver a larger file. If a tab closes or your device runs out of memory, start again with a smaller source file.
Before you start
Will the result be exactly 10 MB?
No. Unpin aims at or below your target and verifies the output size. It does not pad files to match an exact byte count.
Can I keep MOV or WebM as the compressed output?
This target-size tool exports MP4. The Video tab converts to MP4, MOV or WebM, but does not combine those choices with a target-size control.
Does Pro support larger videos?
Not currently. Pro is not open for subscriptions, and the planned individual video limit remains 100 MB.
